Description

Charterhouse is a grade I listed 14th Century Carthusian Monastery, one of only nine ever built in Britain. It is owned by Historic Coventry Trust which has secured a £4.7 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to begin bringing the important buildings and their surroundings back to life, with the aim of fully reopening them to the public for the first time in 80 years.

We will hear from Ian Harrabin, Chairman of the Trust about its exciting plans working with Coventry City Council to fully restore the buildings and create the first 30 acres of a planned 70 acre Heritage Park around Charterhouse.

We will also have a unique opportunity to see around parts of Charterhouse and its grounds during this special visit, one of the last before the buildings are closed for the first phase of restoration works.
